KAIDOK
Hey guys and gals, Like most of us I'm in need of an SSL Cert. Preferably one that is "trusted" (doesn't throw up a cert trust issue warning) and one that isn't going to break the bank. Suggestions? Maybe a mod would want to stick this thread as a resource thread once we get a resolution?
uberhost
"RapidSSL is a 128/256 bit single root SSL certificate. RapidSSL.com owns the root used to issue RapidSSL certificates making it a stable SSL offering." RapidSSL certificate direct from GeoTrust $69.00 Same RapidSSL certificate from Dynadot $19.99 Same RapidSSL certificate from Trustico $14.95 Same RapidSSL certificate from ServerTastic $12.95
KAIDOK
So you're saying you get the exact same SSL Cert from ServerTastic as you do from GeoTrust and it doesn't throw up the warning?

That's right. You're welcome to visit my SSL test page with a variety of browsers, if you like: https://uberhost.net/ssl.php

uberhost
Works like a charm (which you knew). Sweetness. Thanks! Glad to help. I've used all of the sources I mentioned to obtain RapidSSL certs and definitely can recommend to you that the $12.95 cert works just as well and that ServerTastic offers good service.

banar
I just spoke with rapidssl.com sales rep and he confirmed that servertastic.com is an authorized reseller. It's great.
Gav
I got mine from godaddy, I thought that it was good at £15 a year but looks like there are even cheaper ones. I've had no problem with ssl cert from godaddy, I'd recommend them but might be better to go with a cheaper one if they are as good.
