xxxacp
I need some assistance here. I had the trial version and it has expired... I purchased a license and can see my new details when I am logged into control panel. I can download entire whm files, (but I don't need to, do I? I already have it installed.) I jsut need to update the license key, and I can't find it anywhere. I can see the key and it says it has been reissued, but that is it. I can't download it. Please help as this is very urgent. Thanks
xxkylexx
I may be wrong, but I believe you just edit your configuration file with the new Licence Key.

xxkylexx
No, look for a file called "configuration.php" in the main WHMCS directory. Open it and add your new Licence Number. Save, then re-upload.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 27, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 27, 2006 Hi, I think you're getting confused here. That looks like the key for an SSL certificate. What xxkylexx was saying you need to do is edit the configuration.php file inside your WHMCS directory and enter your new license key. If your trial has expired, when you visit the admin area you should be shown an expired license message and from here you can enter your new license key and your WHMCS system will begin working again. WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 27, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 27, 2006 You need to upgrade to the latest version. If the issue still persists after that then I can troubleshoot the issue. Matt

Matt Matt, I updated all the files for the upgrade. I tried to update the database via phpmyadmin, but I get the probably too large file error. Now everthing is a mess.. Please help
xxkylexx
You need to update your database by running the upgrade script which was included in the installation, not manually via phpmyadmin. Looks like you may have really dug yourself into a hole now.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 27, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 27, 2006 Oh dear. Why did you try to update via phpMyAdmin and not run the upgrade script as instructed in the readme file? You'll need to restore the backup you took of the database now and then run the upgrade script by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/whmcs/install/install.php Matt
xxxacp
ok, I will restore the backup and try again... I have been up for about 32 hours and am in a hurry so I guess I missed that.. Thanks
xxxacp
Well I really messed up... I was in such a hurry that I backed up the wrong database... Now I have to do a clean install unless you can tell me how to just redo the database? Thanks
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 27, 2006 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 27, 2006 Hi, It depends what you actually did to the database as to whether it can be restored. Open a ticket by emailing support@whmcs.com with your cpanel login details and database name and I'll take a look. Matt
