tweaked
HI people! I just wanted to express how impressed with WHMCS I am. Even though the program does lack some useful features that other competing products offer, I have found WHMCS to be the easiest of all the web hosting automation scripts I have used and tried. The administration layout is the best by far and the client side is not that bad either. In the last 4 products I have used, it was tedious just trying to do simple things. What was easy about them was the ability to get lost in their interfaces. By contrast, I have found WHMCS to be well laid out and very accessible. A few things take getting used to but you have to learn any system you use in the beginning. Seeing as how often Matt improves and adds features in each update, it won't take long for WHMCS to rule in the feature list department too in my mind. I have only needed to open 2 tickets so far and each time the support was quick and spot on. Thank you to Matt and WHMCS crew for providing such a quality program and customer support. By the way, I never leave feedback for any company. This is the first time. Take it to heart on how much I mean this.
Dominic
Awesome isn't it If WHMCS lacks features you need, list 'em and they'll get added You can also ask WHMCS directly and pay for any modifications. A couple of features in it are ones we've sponsored, for example

There are some must have time saving and informational capabilities I need built into the system that I think everyone could benefit from. I have no problem investing in this product if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I mean, in the long run, it could mean more time to work on customer relations and public image for all of us.

Depends what you're after, but I've had small altertions done for peanuts (<$50 iirc) and afaik Matt is available for virtually anything you can throw at him from what I've heard of what he's done for others. Best to open a ticket and find out!

After I get our new design finished and other goodies for my customer's ready I might just do that.
bear
Just to mention, the custom work is not frequently incorporated into the main product, or "sponsored" from what I've seen. Usually it's created per user and only for that user. Someone correct me if I have this wrong.

If I am not mistaking, when you request a feature that Matt thinks should be added to the main program, Matt will tell you to look for it in the next release, and not take the custom mod job.
brianoz
I've paid Matt to have at least 1 thing done that went into the next release; but a lot of thought went into asking for it in such a way that it could work in the main product. Having said that, I think bear is correct these days, that was some time ago.

I suppose it depends on what it is...we've had some things specifically for us (eg a customised protx module), and others which are just general features we needed which could just be fitted into the program - eg the "disable this e-mail" feature, which was one I paid for
tweaked
Just goes to show how we can all contribute to a better product. I think if I do pay for custom work, it will just make it that much easier or at least there will be something later for Matt to go on down the road for public version. So I am all for it, just comes down to how much money I have, hehe...
