Strange SSL issue

I have my WHMCS set up on it's own VPS and have an SSL cert installed for the domain name that I am using for my WHMCS installation. (purchased without the www, so it's https://whatevermydomain.com

In the General configuration I have set the secure access to https://whatevermydomain.com/directoryname/

There is no problem when I access the admin area via SSL, however, when I try to login to a client account I access:

https://whatevermydomain.com/directoryname/

but the url changes to this:

http://whatevermydomain.com/directoryname/index.php?display_errors=&debug_output=&mysql_errors=

I don't get it, Is there a setting that I am missing?

Ahh! Ok, so I shouldn't have my clients access the main page via SSL, SSL is on an as needed basis. (phew) Thank you very much for clearing that up! I was pulling my hair out trying to find where I might have made an error (especially after half of my conf file went MIA).

Greatly appreciated,

Terri

BTW, From what I have seen of WHMCS so far, I think it's a great system, and I can't wait to finish getting things set up and start using it. Just need to get over those occasional bumps :)
