freedombi
WHMCS is, first and foremost, a billing system for webhosting, primarily for individuals though it can handle businesses. It does this and and it does it well. It can handle billing not related to webhosting, too, but because it isn't trying to be everything to everyone, there are some areas where you hit limitations. I won't go into them here - you can see most of them in the Feature Requests forum. I used ModernBill for a couple of weeks before switching to WHMCS. ModernBill has far more features. If you can figure out how to use them. If they actually work. If you've got time to wait for all of the pages to load. Oh, and if your resolution is at least 1280x1024 so you can see the entire screen at once. Features are useless if they don't work or are difficult to use, so I'll gladly put up with WHMCS's "limitations". Not that WHMCS is flawless. Today I had to submit a ticket for a minor issue. The response was so quick that I must guess that Matt is sitting at his computer, playing Solitaire while watching for support tickets to come in. There are a couple of problems I see, though. First, the drop-down menus always pop up as soon as the cursor hits them, making it annoying when you're doing stuff like switching between tabs. This is probably easily fixed, though. And second, "WHMCS" is awkward to say. I've taken to pronouncing it as "wim-sis"
Jordan
I've always said it as "WHIM C-S"
JasonO
I just call it WHMCS. Pronouncing each letter. If you get your tounge in a twist, most people still know what your on about though.

uberhost
The response was so quick that I must guess that Matt is sitting at his computer, playing Solitaire while watching for support tickets to come in. Humor, ar-ar. First, the drop-down menus always pop up as soon as the cursor hits them, making it annoying when you're doing stuff like switching between tabs. This is probably easily fixed, though. They are indeed "drop-down" menus, hence the name. And second, "WHMCS" is awkward to say. "Dubya-8ch-Em-See-Ess"
generic
i think what he meant was could matt put a millasecond delay on them so they dont pop up INSTANTLY like they do, that way if you just mouse over them accidently for a split second as your changing between tabs (as a lot of us do everyday) you dont get the instant drop down menu. There is a setting in the javascript as follows: var disappeardelay=250 //menu disappear speed onMouseout (in miliseconds) but ther is no onMouseover delay setting.

Yes, this is what I meant. I'll submit a feature request on this someday.
isdoo
"WHMCS" is awkward to say. I've taken to pronouncing it as "wim-sis" This is one of the few things, I do not like about the product LOL I can never remember the letters However the name stems from the days when it was purely for WHM, and not other panels.
