Domain Due Date and Expiry Date out of order

Recommended Posts

Hello all, hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I've found.

Last year I transferred quite a few domains to my Registrar via WHMCS for a client. I've now noticed the Expiry date of the domain is before the Next Due date. The next due date field is basically showing a year from the date we transferred the domains in. Obviously one would expect the next due date for a domain would be aligned to its specified expiry date, no?

I've now found for this client several domains due to expire in the coming days, of which no emails have been automatically sent to get the client to renew. Oddly, one would expect such a basic feature to 'just work'. I'm surprised the system has allowed this and frankly disappointed. I more or less want to allow the WHMCS automation to do the work, but it seems the more I use this program, the more work I'm doing for it. Yikes! /Rant lol.

Any advise?

Hi  mrbrodie94,

Yes, this is the problem in domain transferring with WHMCS. You should check and update the next due date manually for it. because the domain sync cron only syncs pricing and transfer status not updating the expiry or next due date. So, you need to update it manually.
If you want to do it automatically then you need to create a hook/custom PHP file with the code which can do it. and run it with cron jobs.

This is not true. Have you actually used WHMCS?

The domain sync task is responsible for ensuring the next due date, expiry date, and status are up-to-date on all Pending Transfer, Pending Registration, and Active status domains where a valid registrar module is set on the domain itself.
