WHMCS is aware of a Service Degradation affecting Digicert  which is impacting the configuration of Organisation Validation (OV) certificates.

Affected certificates will encounter an error when submitting the CSR and approval email:

An unknown error occurred

We have reported the issue to Digicert, and their engineering team are investigating a solution.

WHMCS has identified the error is occurring due to a 404 error response being returned by the Digicert API's Order command.

We are continuing to provide samples of affected orders to Digicert's support and engineering teams to assist in their root cause analysis.

Digicert have suggested a potential temporary workaround.

We believe it may be possible to implement the temporary workaround on the marketplace.whmcs.com infrastructure, avoiding the need for a software update.

We hope to have the temporary workaround in place by the end of this week.

Some users are reporting success when reordering the SSL Certificate:

  1. Go to the client's Products/Services tab and select the SSL Certificate record.
  2. Click the Terminate Module Command button.
  3. Click the Create Module Command button.
  4. Click the Attempt Automatic Configuration or Manually Configure Certificate button.
  5. Complete any on-screen prompts.

The certificate configuration may be accepted by Digicert.

Due to a technical issue upstream and outside our control, the deployment of the possible workaround has been rescheduled to next week.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

A temporary workaround was deployed on Monday 1st May.

Please attempt to re-configure any affected certificates, and the data should now be accepted by Digicert.
