why the markdown integration in WHMCS does not support images?

Hi,

Can someone explain why the markdown integration in WHMCS does not support images?

My goal is to create a sticky note with a picture of the client that will be added (as any other ticket note) to the client profile and to each ticket.
I know that markdown allows adding pictures - but it's not working in WHMCS.

This is the code that should work:

![Client Picture](link to the picture.png "picture")

But it's not working.

When I try the same code in a markdown online editor (such as https://dillinger.io/) the above code is working without a problem.

Is this a security issue?  Or maybe something else?

 

I see that there is a feature request to add such support to WHMCS:
https://requests.whmcs.com/idea/allow-markdown-image-in-tickets-signature

But it's old and without votes.
What do you think?
