Gav
Hi, I recently added Google Checkout but just have one question - when setting the integration settings, I put the callback URL but should the callback method be XML or HTML? It was XML by default but a customer made an order and paid but the payment didn't show up in WHMCS, I've changed it to HTML but just wanted to check that that was the right thing to do. Thanks
uberhost
Do you have an SSL cert installed and working on the API callback URL? Anyway, our settings look like so: Shopping cart post security [*] For extra security, my company will only post digitally signed XML shopping carts. API callback URL: https://yourdomain.com/whmcs/modules/gateways/callback/googlecheckout.php Callback method: [*] XML

Gav
Yeah it is hosted on a secure server and the API is pointed to the correct url as shown. I just tried going to https://billing.mydomain.net/modules/gateways/callback/googlecheckout.php and got a ERROR 400 "The webpage cannot be found" - is that normal?
sky2k4
I go here, https://hostitplanet.com/hip2k8/modules/gateways/callback/googlecheckout.php and get nothing. This error (HTTP 400 Bad Request) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the web server, but the webpage could not be found because of a problem with the address. For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 13, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 13, 2008 The error response HTTP 400 Bad Request is exactly what you should get when visiting it manually. You aren't the Google Checkout system so you aren't allowed to access the file. The latest error response you posted shows what the real issue is - a problem with your SSL certificate. If the Google callback system has any problems verifying it, it ends the callback. Matt

PPH
Exactly what is causing the problem And it's always amazing to see the large amounts lost by companies in a short period of time, but they can't afford a real SSL
uberhost
Exactly what is causing the problem And it's always amazing to see the large amounts lost by companies in a short period of time, but they can't afford a real SSL Totally agreed, plus I wouldn't want my clients getting the infamous IE warning: "Please turn around before it's too late because we don't trust this site!" (paraphrased, lol). WHMCS works beautifully with Google Checkout.

uberhost
Seems like there is a self-signed certificate on the server that is causing a conflict. If you remove the old cert, I bet the problem will go away.
PPH
Do you know how to install the certificate you purchased? Also was it purchased for http://www.hostitplanet.com or just hostitplanet.com? As uberhost stated, you are using a self-signed cert issued to hostitplanet.com

PPH
Do you offer support for the SSL certs you sell through your site? Or is that handled through Godaddy/Wild West? You need to remove the self signed cert for hostitplanet.com and then install your purchased cert for http://www.hostitplanet.com since that is the address purchased for.

WHMCS CEO Matt Posted February 10, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted February 10, 2008 If you have an active license, open a ticket with support. Will need to have a look at your installation and can't do that via the forums. Matt
sky2k4
it wasn't a real ssl issue it was our provider, they didn't know how to set it up,lol we had to do it for them.. that why we are independent now.. Thanks matt if you are having problems you must upload your certificates to your bin in your directory
