Help giving Invoices a title

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some help with making some invoices have a custom title instead of a number. The numbers make sense for hosting clients however i've been doing SEO services for people and it can become quite confusing when a client has 3+ invoices in their portal for different SEO services. I am creating these as quotes in WHMCS then converting them to a split invoice (70% Deposit then 30% when work is done). Is there a way I can rename these invoices to a custom title, even if its with an addon.

You can edit the templates on the customer side to add some text before or after the invoice number. Why would you want to do this? It would be even more confusing for customers to see invoices with the same text over a unique number assuming they buy the same service again.

People refer to invoices by number, not text which is harder to quickly scan visually. You are supposed to put the description for the products and services inside the invoice as billing items. You could maybe modify the client area to show that item description as well together with the invoice number or below if you want to show more details on the invoice list page.

Thanks for the reply :), My aim would be to rename each invoice so it would be something like #Invoice 23 - SEO Services for (company 1) as I am a white label with some of these clients. I wouldn't want all my customers to see a different invoice name which is why I want to manually edit each one. It can be hard when a client has x amount of unpaid invoices to figure out which invoice is which, without clicking on it.

Sure, this can be done by editing the template on the user side that displays invoices. You can use the variable {$companyname} to set the company name on the template.
