What (if anything) Do You Upsell To Your Clients?

We are always looking at new ways to increase turnover so thought I would open this thread and get an idea about what you guys are doing.

When a customer purchases hosting from you, is that the end of the deal or do you have systems in place to increase your revenue from the customer?

I'll start with a couple of ours:

1. We run a special "rebates" system.

When a client signs up, they are given access to an area within WHMCS that presents them with useful products that they may be interested in - SEO software, digital delivery scripts and so on.

We earn a commission on any sales generated, and we give the client purchasing the product an incentive in the form of a rebate on their next hosting invoice. (Rebate depends on our commission amount)

2. A hosting tips newsletter

Not yet launched but it's very close. We are going to be adding an optional opt-in box in our WHMCS client area that allows customers to sign up for free hosting tips.

These tips are sent out by our email auto-responder on auto-pilot. (All double-opted in to avoid spam problems) The tips will be on simple subjects like how to set up and edit a blog/forum, how to create email addresses for the rest of your family and so on. These articles will be on a web page that contains advertising, the list will also allows us to send out promotional emails for products that will earn us a commission.

Those are the 2 main things we have up and running, there's also the usual custom error and holding pages.

So spill the beans....what do the rest of you do? :)

I've just had a module written for my whmcs install that allows access to my Internet Marketing Video Library using the clients whmcs login details...

My hosting clients get access to the videos ONLY if they are active hosting clients.

The videos are direct feeds from my Membership site at http://www.mysmallbizu.com All the videos are streaming Windows Media files.

Right now there are about 1000 tutorials and a couple new ones are added daily. Over the next week I'll have the videos setup up to display in the tutorials.php page as an addon...

This setup will allow any hosting company running whmcs to add the videos as a direct reseller and still control the access to the videos with their own whmcs install. I should have a demo up and running by the end of this week if you want to take a look.

We are in the process of signing up as a VISP, nothing major but means that when our customers come to the end of their current DSL contract they can opt to change to us and have one bill for both hosting and internet access, and of course they will get our second to none support for all as well
