Upgrading PLESK Accounts in WHMCS

Recommended Posts

WHMCS only upgrades the plan on the Plesk server. Whatever happens in the upgrade regarding files, you would need to check that with Plesk and how they handle upgrades. WHMCS does not do any upgrades all. The Plesk server to does the upgrade and then WHMCS just updates itself to match that new package and modifies the billing on your side. What I'm trying to say is that WHMCS does not handle the server or website data. In your case, Plesk does that. WHMCS is just the billing and automation tool and it will send an action to the Plesk server to do whatever action it requires, like create a new account, suspended, terminate or upgrade.

If you check the documentation for the supported functions:

https://docs.whmcs.com/Plesk

Upgrade would be Change Package. All WHMCS would do is tell Plesk, "Hey Plesk, change this customer plan to this new package"

Whatever you consider here an upgrade or downgrade depends on what packages you created in Plesk.

At that point Plesk is the one doing the upgrade/downgrade in your server, not WHMCS. Plesk just changes the package to the new limits set by that package.

As a sidenote, be careful with offering free trials to anonymous people. Make sure you trust the people you give access to your server for free, otherwise you will attract people abusing your trials like sending spam or doing other nasty things which can give you troubles.
