do you want an existing field (e.g one already on the form) to be required or to add anew field ??

new field, "Partita IVA"

if it's a tax field, you might want to take a look at the VAT settings to see if they would work for you...

if not, then it's a client custom field that you can make required when you set it up.

Hi Brian, I upgraded to whmcs 8.0, but it still doesn't pass the VIES verification on the Tax field.
Could you tell me why?

not without knowing more details - this might be one better suited to a support ticket... or possibly ask Kian as he's Italian and knows more about invoicing/tax etc than anyone else here.

I suspect you are using 2 fields for the same purpose. More specifically, you are using WHMCS VAT ID field and a Client Custom Field named "Partita IVA" (still VAT ID) for the same thing. You should not use both in the same time. Pick one otherwise customers need to fill 2x fields with the same value.

As for the rest, be careful if you decide to go for WHMCS VAT ID especially if you issue electronic invoices. If you go for Client Custom Field, you lose the possibility verify VAT Numbers against VIES but in the same time you avoid facing some weird problems with e-invoice.

Hi guys, in the end I used an addon for electronic invoicing, it automatically creates an additional VAT number field and performs the VIES verification on it, so I have both the VIES verification and the electronic invoicing.
