Creating a report that shows total amount owing by all clients?

Hi! At my previous job we used Freshbooks, where I could see a list of clients who were overdue.

It also lists how much they owe, how long they have owed you, and which clients owe you the most.

More details here: https://www.freshbooks.com/hub/reports/accounts-aging

My current employer uses WHMCS for all billing and reports - is there any way to recreate this?

I'm not the most technical person, so if you could EL15 that would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance.

Is this what you are looking for?

I suspect the OP is thinking more along the lines of totalling unpaid/overdue invoices per client as opposed to their credit balance (which can be viewed from the built-in clients report anyway).

Sorry, I misunderstood!

we've all done that with questions lol. 🙂

personally, I think buying a $100 per year addon is a little overkill when the OP only needs a relatively simple specific report...

the 9 year-old report below still works - ultimately (e.g one day!) it will need updating, but it could be a starting point for the OP.

Don't know how it is with all countries and accounting, but in my country, you have to show every single invoice in the report and not just a total.

In addition, one must also document prepayments / overpayments, ie Credit Overview, which I first referred to.

After all, WHMCS is not exactly good at reporting and it seems strange after so many years that this has not been prioritized, because it is quite a job to get the annual accounts correct every year and reporting should have been made much easier

I was assuming it was just for the OP's use, e.g to quickly see which clients owed money etc, rather than a formal report to be submitted to a tax authority / accountant.

it's not exactly good at a lot of things... but let's not disappear down that rabbit hole! 🕳️

I suspect the thinking will be that if there is a need, a solution could easily be written by a third party.... there were a few tweaks to report code in v7.9, but the fact a 9 year old report still works (up to a point) tells you a lot about WHMCS development in that period.
