Question re: editing server info

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This is probably a daft question, but wanted to check before possibly buggering up my WHMCS install.

I'm a reseller and the server I'm using is being upgraded.  The new server will be exactly like the old (nameserver, dns zones etc)  apart from an IP address change,

When the WHM account migration is complete,  can I simply change the IP address on server set up in WHMCS?   or will this break something??

Previously I have manually moved each client/account to a new server set up in WHMCS and am hoping to not have to do that again 🙂

Hi @itsmir,

Yes, that's no problem at all. You can go into the edit server and update the server hostname and IP address and it will update all of your client records with the correct info that are using that server.

Don't forget you can check the connection to the server once you've changed it towards the bottom of the edit screen.

Ah thanks for the confirmation, that'll save quite a bit of work.
