LicenseChef
Seems like the phpmailer need to be updated. Tried both 465 and 587, and both resulted in SMTP Data not accepted. When using port 25, WHMCS will timeout. The authentication is correct and other scripts using the same zohomail SMTP server work fine.
Jafar Muhammed
@lonea Are you using Zoho's free tier or paid tier?
LicenseChef
Paid. It works with other scripts on the same server, so the zohomail account isn't the issue.
Jafar Muhammed
Did you try to switch between SSL and TSL? If no, under SMTP SSL Type, select TSL and try again.

Jafar Muhammed
I am sorry if you find this as spam. I was trying to help you, as I had the same issue. I was using Cloudflare with Zoho/Sendgrid and a few other ESPs. I thoughts that it was a problem with my DNS records. But after switching to TLS, I was able to send emails. LicenseChef
I can confirm this is a bug. I can get the email to send when I goto Utilites -> Logs- > Email Message Log, then pull up an email in the list and click on Send Message. Any other email function will result in SMTP Error: data not accepted.
