Clients not recieving emails

Hello, it appears my clients are not receiving emails that I manually send.  I'll select their client profile, load a email template, make adjustments and press send.  It shows up in the email tab of their client profile but they never actually receive it.  Any suggestions?  TIA

however I am still stuck.  I should mention that I have Godaddy hosting which might be the root of my problems?  In the WHMCS mail settings I thought everything was working okay under php mode but once I realized clients are not receiving emails I tried switching to SMTP and entered the SMTP details....still no luck.  Also tried using a gmail account instead of godaddy.  Should I open a support ticket?
