How do I solve the following problem?

I would suspect that you've edited the template directly in the TinyMCE editor rather than using the Source Code window (available from the Help menu)...9MNxcSD.png

often the editor will change < to < etc and it can only take one slight coding error to stop an email from sending... if i'm doing anything involving coding in an email template, I tend to do it directly in the database to avoid such issues - but hopefully, just using the Source editor will be sufficient for you.

your best bet is to examine the email template code in the source code window and see if WHMCS has changed any of the coding - it's likely going to be an invalid character somewhere in the code.
