Hosting product name change

Good evening,

I have searched for a solution but have not been able to fund one as yet.  I have noticed that my product name have differed between WHM and WHMCS.  The reason being is that I didn't see the tick box to prefix the username to the product.  So for example in WHM they are mydomain_home where as in WHMCS they are shown as Home, but when a customer orders hosting they end up as username_home.

Can I remove the username prefix in WHMCS from the current clients or will this break the hosting?  I'm just concerned that they're not properly tying up between the 2 systems.  I have a licensed WHMCS installation via my host (I'm setting up as a reseller) but can't see a way of registering on whmcs.com to log a support ticket.  My host as suggested I log a ticket with WHMCS.

Many thanks

Jason

Hello @Jason_csh

This shouldn't have an impact, the WHMCS relationship in WHM is tied to the username, you can go ahead and remove the username prefix without breaking anything, I would note the client area will always show the name of the product you have set under Setup > Products/Services rather than the name of the package in cPanel/WHM.

As you have a license from a reseller you can always open a ticket via https://www.whmcs.com/reseller-support/

Hi Chris,

Thank you for getting back to me and answering my query. I will go ahead and rename them so that they all match.  My concern was that if the package names were prefixed with a different name, they would not work with the quotas set in WHM if that makes sense.

Thank you for the support link too.  I will keep that to hand if I can't find an FAQ or post that might answer any future queries.

Thanks,

Jason
