ddg8176
Can I rename the WHMCS directory under my domain from http://www.mydomain.com/whmcs to say http://www.mydomain.com/clients or .../login or something like that after I have setup products/services and imported accounts? I remember reading something that said I could do it when I first uploaded the entire WHMCS folder to the server. I didn't realize at the time why I could rename the directory until I actually used the client login. So if I rename it, could stuff get screwed up? Functionality is more important to me than how the url looks.
bear
I'd assume you simply rename it after making changes to reflect the new correct directory in the back end under configuration -> general configuration -> WHMCS System URL (as well as WHMCS SSL System URL). I've never tried it though, use at your own risk.
chickendippers
I literally just did this to bring my WHMCS install live. Change the setting as bear said above, and moved everything from /whmcs to the / and it worked a treat. Obviously if you've made changes to your template files that refer to the old directory name then you'll need to update those.
Retired Forum Member WHMCS Joe Posted December 3, 2007 Retired Forum Member Share Posted December 3, 2007 Hi Also don't forget when changing directories you will need to update the path for any cron jobs and email forwarders.
