Recommended Posts

With this module your customers can manage Dedicated Servers using the NOC-PS server provisoring system. The modules does provide hassle-free management of servers for both sides - hosters and customers. In contrast to other NOC-PS modules this one does not need to have custom fields at WHMCS.

Watch here the demo video!

Clients can access the functions at the WHMCS product view. The module contains the following functions:

  • Reboot
  • Shutdown
  • Reset
  • Reinstallation
  • Live Progress view of reinstallation
  • Network Graphs
  • Sensor Graphs
  • Blacklist OS from list at reinstallation menu

Half a month ago a new version of the module has been released. The new version does support auto setup for dedicated server orders.

Auto provisioning is fully compatible with configurable options. You simply assign your server to the WHMCS product and add the appropriate configurable option values.
Using configurable options you can offer different locations, different hard drive combinations, etc.

The new version contains many changes. Only relevant features and improvements are listed:

  • Feature: Add BMC Reset at Client area and Admin area
  • Feature: Bandwidth Accounting and Bandwidth Billing
  • Feature: Automated Server Provisioning
  • Feature: Added Hook System to execute own code on events
  • Feature: Automated Server start / stop on suspend, unsuspend, terminate
  • Feature: ACL Groups to manage permissions
  • Feature: Setting Page to control the behavior of the software [1] [2]
  • Feature: Module Activity Log to keep track of actions
  • Feature: Functions to manipulate available operating systems per service
  • Feature: Added Language Override Files
  • Client area Bugfix: Don't show 'Cancel Installation' button if the installation is already completed.
  • Improvement: Admin area: don't show empty traffic graphs. Instead show a message.
  • Improvement: Added file to add valid strings for online / offline detection (like 'chassis power offline', 'offline'). Useful for PDUs, because PDUs returns often other strings than just 'Online'.

Since my last post there have been several updates. For the sake of clarity I will only summarize the relevant things from the last few releases:

  • Support for multiple IPMI/KVM proxies + proxy assignments
  • Ability to execute a pre-profile before installing the operating system. This allows to delete the metadata on the hard disks and prevent conflicts during the operating system installation
  • Stock Monitor: Automatically update the quantify of available servers
  • Ability to automatically wipe disk content of servers after termination

The complete release notes can be found in the documentation: Release Notes
