Hi,

I am testing canceling domain name registration, first all is fine I can cancel and confirme this and make refund to my customer, but after refund, whmcs do not communicate with my reseller account of ResellerClub, and the domain name that was canceled still active.

You can see attachements.

Configuration of API (ID and key) is fine, because registration is done automatically.

how can I resoulve the problem and complete canceling from resellerClub automatically ?

Thank you

bear in mind that in WHMCS, you're just cancelling the order and/or invoice - you're not necessarily cancelling the domain registration itself.

be very careful when register/cancelling domains - as you may not be allowed to do so...

You may delete a registered domain name from your Control Panel within the Money Back Grace Period. This is the number of days after domain name registration, during which you may delete a domain name to receive a refund.

Upon explicitly deleting a domain name, you may be entitled to a refund of the amount paid. However, you may have to bear a deletion charge for this convenience.

tbh, I don't think that WHMCS would even attempt to cancel the registration with the registrar - let alone know whether it was within the MBGP date range for that TLD... though I can't recall trying to cancel a new registration via RC.

Note: Deleting a domain from WHMCS will not perform any action at the domain registrar.

the bottom line is that you can't always get a refund from the registrar - so whether you've cancelled/refunded the client in WHMCS is irrelevant - you might still get charged for the registration.

the bottom line is that you should never expect to get a refund from the registrar

Corrected Brian's statement there ;)

In 15+ years of doing business online with multiple registrars , never have I successfully been able to get a refund from the registrar for a domain purchased. It's mine. Once purchased, done.

The reason? Domains are a razor thin market in most cases. Hell, depending on the registrar, they're possibly taking a loss on the first year , just to get you in the door (or to get you to register a domain). They have to pay their provider for the domain, and so do you.

As Brian mentioned as well, WHMCS shouldn't attempt to cancel the order for the domain. That would be way too ugly to try to do

Now, if you're after 'testing' something, get a sandbox account at [insertregistrarhere]. That way they won't charge you for things. However, in the specific instance you mentioned, you're likely out of luck. Don't refund your customers for domain purchases, but write that into your terms somehow. Unless, you'r after taking a loss
