DrMcNasty
So on version 6 I used to have a listing showing of outstanding invoices on the dashboard, I updated to 7 and that is gone. I also can't reorder the dashboard components, nor can I remove them at all, only close them. This is a massive annoyance and I would love to find some sort of fix for it. I have been through all the admin options and I can't seem to find anything about it. Any input / suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
WHMCS ChrisD
Hello DrMcNasty, Thanks for your post on the WHMCS Community forum. The new dashboard is fully backwards compatible with earlier widgets and so if there is a particular widget from past versions that you require, you can restore it to the /modules/widgets/ directory and it should continue to work exactly as before.
twhiting9275
Hah, I knew this thread existed, just couldn't find it. This is actually the sole reason I put this widget together, with this thread in mind, just navigated away from the thread As Chris mentioned, old addons are indeed backwards compatible, but likely won't work with future versions of WHMCS, and will likely not work with php7 , due to the sql_query stuff going on. If the widget does work now, it may not in the future, as sql_query is undoubtedly going to be removed. That updated widget is somewhat future proof as it utilizes Capsule instead of the old sql_query functionality.
Diesel
Thanks for the step backwards, WHMCS! Why would you do this to the dashboard? It was fine the way it was, now it's just a mess.
