snake
PLEASE read this properly before replying and telling me to check my connection details etc. This is an existing site, which has been running for months. It is NOT a new site. The servers are my own, Running Windows 2012 R2 (not interested in any anti-windows, use Linux comments thanks), 1 x web server and 1 x DB server. Resource usage is not high, there are not many databases either. There are other websites on the same server, which are connecting to MySQL databases on the same database server without any issues at all. All the other sites are running super fast. Today WHMCS and only WHMCS is continually giving the error stated in the subject, and pages are failing to load 99% of the time. Occasionally the page will load, but mostly it will not. However the Admin seems to mostly work, only occasionally giving an error. Yes the connection details are correct, otherwise the site would have NEVER worked, and the pages would never load and the admin would not be working. The mysql server is the same one being used by the other working sites. here is the full error SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. What would be causing only the WHMCS database to not be working or to get a response when everything else is working fine ?
twhiting9275
You may not like it, but the fact is that WHMCS does not support Windows. Time to move on from your OS to a supported environment. the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. There's your problem right there. Get with your network / systems administrators, have them diagnose why the servers aren't talking to each other in a timely fashion.
snake
If the servers were not communicating then clealry none of the websites/databases would be working, they would all be having connection timeout issues, but as I have clealry explained, it is only affecting WHMCS and nothing else.
twhiting9275
Not necessarily. Again, you'll need to have your admins review this
