How can I make a newly added domain the main domain of the clients cpanel?

This happens to me When a client already has a website. they agree to switch to your host but cant bring down their website until the new one is finished, so this forces me to setup a new account on a spare domain such as client.net

Once the website is complete, the client will be ok with changing registrars and abandoning the old host, but the end result always places the spare .net domain as the final destination because it was used to set everything up first.

This is a frustrating situation I deal with sometimes and I want to put an end to it now.

In this current case, my clients website was made with lightcms(like WIX) so I couldn't migrate from the beginning.

they created their host account and domain with me and I've built everything on the .net.

The website is finished, and when I change their main domain to my registrar and redirect it, I KNOW they will ask why their website keeps saying ".net" on the browser.

So how can I make their main .com domain govern the cpanel after switching the registrar to me, so I don't have to redirect it?

Thanks all.

Hi Masterolive,

This is more a question for cPanel rather than a WHMCS one, however, what you could do is make the change in WHM using "Modify an Account" then change the domain name, once done, simply update the domain in there then go back to WHMCS, make the domain change on their client profile and click save.
