WHMCS Setup Wizard, The PHP session save path /var/lib/php/session is not writable

Hi Guys,

 

I've been working on this for weeks but can't make any progress. We're running on Cloudlinux 7.3/Plesk Onyx and WHMCS7.01. When i look at that folder I can see the following permissions;

 

[root@enterprise php]# ls -al

total 20

drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 11 18:56 .

drwxr-xr-x 55 root root 4096 Nov 16 05:14 ..

drwxrwx--- 2 apache apache 12288 Nov 15 17:06 session

 

I adjusted them from;

 

[nathan@enterprise php]$ ls -al

total 20

drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Oct 11 18:56 .

drwxr-xr-x 55 root root 4096 Nov 16 05:14 ..

drwxrwx--- 2 root apache 12288 Nov 15 17:06 session

 

No matter what I do I can't seem to get this error to disappear? Does that folder need to be writable by a certain user?

Thanks for your post on the community forums.

 

Have you tried having the session folder owned and run by root? Generally, this should match the user running PHP. However another option may be to set a custom php.ini on your WHMCS installation using and specifying a customised session.save_path

Its Cloudlinux, so i'm struggling to find the correct user that running PHP, any commands I can run to find out?

I personally haven't used CloudLinux so am unsure command wise I can only recommend checking https://docs.cloudlinux.com/ or checking if your server provider can help you out. I'm sure one of the community members will have an idea too

Cloudlinux just refer me to yourselves... what are the consequences if this doesn't work, how does it affect WHMCS?
