UnitedImperialLimited
Hi, I'm looking for a way to show UK VAT (20%) on checkout an invoice pages alongside the inclusive price. I'm not looking at the EU VAT module because for various reasons I want to charge all customers the 20% regardless of location. I'm just looking for a way to show on invoices and checkout how much that is for each transaction. Can anyone help or recommend? Thanks.

othellotech
I'm not looking at the EU VAT module because for various reasons I want to charge all customers the 20% regardless of location The EU VAT module simply brings WHMCS "numbering" systems inline with multiple EU states legilsation on sequential invoices and is for use if _you_ are in the EU, nothing to do with the location of the client (which gets taxed based on your tax rules)
UnitedImperialLimited
Thanks for the replies. I perhaps didn't phrase the question very well. I am using the standard tax rules, all states, but to get the right amount of tax showing on checkout an invoices I have to set to 25% rather than 20%. In the UK the VAT is 20% of the net price (forgive me I don't now if that is different from other jurisdictions). So for example on a £100 product including VAT, the VAT included is £20. Setting up a tax rate of 20% however adds only £16.67 - or 20% of £83.33 (not the £100 needed). I tried using the EU VAT addon, but this has the same effect as the above anyway. i.e. it sets the rate payable in EU countries to 20% but calculates as 20% of gross not net. The only alternative I can find for WHMCS to calculate the correct amount of VAT is to change the rate to 25% (the usual multiplier you would use in the UK to go from gross to net). But clearly this then implies at checkout and invoices that I am charging a rate of 25% (not 20%). Is there something I'm missing that I can use to change the tax to 20% of net or perhaps even override the wording of the checkout label? - - - Updated - - - Sorry, here are some screen shots to explain better.

I think you're getting your maths wrong with this... if you're selling a product for £100 with VAT included, the VAT will correctly by £16.67... if it helps to think of it the other way and pretend it was exclusive VAT, if the base price of the product is £83.33 and we add 20% VAT to it, the total is £100.00 I tried using the EU VAT addon, but this has the same effect as the above anyway. i.e. it sets the rate payable in EU countries to 20% but calculates as 20% of gross not net.The only alternative I can find for WHMCS to calculate the correct amount of VAT is to change the rate to 25% (the usual multiplier you would use in the UK to go from gross to net).
