Hey there

 

I have followed the instruction on extending the security of my whmcs install i have moved downloads attachments and templates_c outside of public_html i got to moving the crons i then noticed my crons were all ready outside of the public_html in a directory that is created on install using softaculous. Also in that directory are the files you initially move downloads attachments and templates_c being that they are pre installed to the whmcs data folder is it still necessary to move those files should i just leave crons in the data directory i originally created when installing via softaculous

Hi,

It's totally up to you, I don't imagine it would add or detract from the security.

 

If you do move it, don't forget to update the cron job command paths on your server appropriately.
