Don't show VAT to unregistered clients

We want that there is no VAT displayed for unregistered clients. Only once they register and indicate their location does VAT show depending whether they're in EU Or not. Is there any addon like this? If not, is any willing to create it for a price?

Cheers

is your products/services prices include VAT by default?

Yes, and we don't want that. On our website, the prices are excl. VAT, but when someone goes to our billing to place an order, the prices are incl. VAT regardless of their location. We want it not to show VAT until a client registers. Is this possible?

By default, tax is exclusive. What this means is that the prices you enter into WHMCS need to have tax added onto them at the rates you've set. The alternative is inclusive tax. Oppositely, this means that the prices you enter into WHMCS already have tax included in them and WHMCS needs to work backwards to calculate the amount of tax being charged based on the rates you've set. You can choose the tax method you want to use in Setup > Payments > Tax Rules.

  • Exclusive Tax > Tax Amount = Item Price x ( Tax Rate / 100 )
  • Inclusive Tax > Tax Amount = ( Item Price / ( 100 + Tax Rate ) ) x Tax Rate

perhaps your issue would be solved by switching from inclusive to the default exclusive - but then you might need to adjust all of your pricing.

it might be worthwhile contacting support to confirm that before attempting it.
