How to give customer option to downgrade their hosting plan to domainname-only ?

Hi there,

A bit of a n00b-question but I'm still strugling on how to configure domainname-only selling.

Especially the fact that I want to be able to convert a hosting plan to a domain-registration-only plan (and vice-versa).

Could anybody give me a tip on how to configure my products/services or other options to achieve this ?

Thanks !

Hi,

Configure your domain pricing under Setup > Products/Services > Domain Pricing. Clients can then place domain-only orders via /cart.php?a=add&domain=register or /domainchecker.php

Relevant docs: http://docs.whmcs.com/Domain_Pricing

Then configure your products via Setup > Products/Services > Products/Services. Clients can then place hosting-only orders or hosting + domain orders via /cart.php

Relevant docs: http://docs.whmcs.com/Products_and_Services

To add hosting to their accounts, a client would order a product and select the "Use existing domain" option.

Hi John,

Thank you for your reply. But what does a client have to do when he has a hosting-package with a domainname and he wants to stop the webhosting but only keep the domainname ? What how can give my clients that option ?

Kind regards !

Hi,

In that situation the client would simply place a cancellation request for the hosting plan via the client area and opt to keep the associated domain name when prompted.

Thanks, didn't know that; exactly what I wanted to know :).
