Issue with, "Tick this box if you do NOT want us to store..."

On the checkout page, we have this checkbox, option:

 

"Tick this box if you do NOT want us to store your credit card details for recurring billing"

 

However, if this is checked when ordering a new product, then the payment never goes though. It's as if the WHMCS system FIRST/INITIALLY removes the CC card info, and then it tries to charge the card for the ordered service. (i.e. the card that's no longer there because WHMCS just removed it!)

 

So the sequence of events is in error.

 

This has been causing confusion for our existing customers, and I am sure for any new customers, for a very long time. Does anyone know how the code/payment sequencing can be fixed?
