yggdrasil
Does someone how its technically possible to add an addon to a domain registrations? We know that WHMCS does not let you add addons to domains, (something which I find severely flawed), so when a user orders a domain they will only see email, dns, privacy protect, the usual stuff. Is is possible maybe editing files or templates to add another service or addon there? What I'm asking is actually simple but it seems this requires hacking WHMCS. To be able to add an extra checkbox ordering in the cart for domain registrations. I don't think this can be done with bundles either so I assume it requires code editing in the cart. Has someone actually done something similar to this?

yggdrasil
the hard way is to create your own customized cart page using WHMCS API If that is the way to go then I would seriously ask me myself why bother to use WHMCS at all for ordering. It would be easier to create a standalone PHP page where the customers selects the products whic are added to the cart. That is even more simple than having to create a customized cart using the API. What kind of billing/cart system does not allow you to offer more products in a shopping cart or suggestions, well WHMCS it seems. For domains it doesn't let you offer anything else besides the fixed options that come out of the box. I'm actually shocked to be honest that you are restricted to only the default options. Even freebie scripts allow this type of customization.
sentq
maybe you can expect something new in v6.0 to help you do this easily (i hope), but i believe this can be done with a way or another, you just need to know what you have and what the limitations and test, test again
