Cain72
Hi guys, is there a way i can install a copy of whmcs for development purposes ? i have a full copy of whmcs and i would like to work on the site layout / templates etc with bootstrapper 3, awesome icons and the likes, doing this on a live server install isnt something i really want to do so is there a way i can install a non functional version of whmcs on a local webserver, it would definately make development faster just so i can review edits on the fly ? i hope that made some sense Cheers Cain
mlew2
If understood properly you could make a dummy account using the temporary URL on the server whmcs is on now and test to your hearts content, that is if you have the files on your computer itself
Cain72
Hi mlew2, hmmm a second secret development install of whmcs huh, sounds interesting, ill take a look into that approach, im assuming if i install whmcs on my local development machine, it should run, and by run i mean, suface level, in otherwords be able to present the pages as they are, however the back end system etc would be broken, meaning i cant use it as a live version, which is fine its just a dev install afterall, im going to test this out today, certainly would speed up dev time considerably. then i can start cranking out a half decent usable theme rebuild for us. Damo
Cain if you have a full license from WHMCS then open a ticket and request a development license. They are available at no cost to license owners.

mlew2
Sorry wasn't positive on the availability of the Dev license and being free. Disregard my post. Also not sure if my approach would be allowed just assumed it would be as it is still you using it and not on a live site Edited August 11, 2014 by mlew2
