Arrange custom field on order form

Is it possible to place a custom field somewhere else on the order form instead of below everything else? I#d like to integrate salutation as a mandatory fields, but naturaly it should be place next to the name in the form. If thats not possible out-of-the-box, who could program this for us?

I did search the forum, but came up empty. But before making an official request in the marketplace I wanted to ask in general, as someone might have a solution at hand (thats what forums are for).

 

But guess what, before asnwering here, I have searched thourougly once more and found this:

So by using the elaborate advice "use search in forum" you actually did inspire me to choose the right search phrase combination and in a way helped me. Thanks.
