Client Front End...should i go Wordpress or buy a whmcs template

Hi guys,

i how just got whmcs. Complete newbie at this programm, however, I am quite familiar with wordpress site building.

Questions

1. Do i,

purchase a wordpress intergration plugin (im thinking of "WHMCS WordPress Integration")

OR

buy a whmcs template (thinking of getting the "Gater Domain" premium theme from whmcsthemes.com)

I am a little concerned that i may not be able to customise the theme images to suite my own website as my website is to be called "goannawebsites" (so i obviously need to get rid of the crocs and add goannas into the images). Apparently, the theme developer will not part with their original images so i can edit theme (perhaps im misinterpreting their documentation on this)

2. Finally,

If i were to go with wordpress integration, would i need to unistall whmcs from my public_html directory first, install wordpress, then reinstall whmcs and the integrator plugin?

kind regards,

Adam

I think because the Gater theme is one of their premium ones, the photoshop files are included - it's only their free and standard themes that don't include the psd files - but best to check before purchase.

whichever way you decide to go on this, I would suggest using one of the built-in whmcs templates while you're entering your products/clients etc.. that way you can test the site as you're going along...

if you add a custom theme to a new installation or integrate wp, then start to add your products and clients (and are unfamiliar with whmcs), when some aspect doesn't work, you won't know if it's the custom theme/integration or whmcs.

so get it working using the default templates and if/when it later fails with the custom/integration, you can look there first to resolve the issue.

How about the 3rd party addon called whmcms.

It looks as if it is designed for creating/editng whmcs pages with relative ease.

Does it work as well as its developers claim (cant find many images that really show what it does)

Is it worth the $50 US

that will depend if you think you will need to create new pages within whmcs rather than just edit the ones already there.

it might be easier to first decide what you want the site to contain and then how you want it to look - once you know both, the method to get there might become obvious to you.
