jerryb
WHMCS 5.3.7 I turned on the Mass Payment option recently, thinking it had been resolved since I last attempted it (over 2 years ago). Now, I'm running into an issue such as the following: Invoice 1: $10 Invoice 2: $10 Client clicks Mass Pay: Invoice #3 is created, with line items for Invoice 1 and 2 (cool so far). Client makes payment, it goes through successfully, all is well, right? No. All three invoices are still marked UNPAID. Now the client has three outstanding invoices. Additionally, when you view the Invoices in the Admin area, there is no button to mark them as PAID (it's still labeled Mark as Unpaid). So, it looks like 1/2 the system recognizes the payment has gone through, but the other 1/2 of the system does not. The only option I have is to cancel the Invoices (which I don't really want to do for obvious reasons). I've turned off Mass Pay for the time being, but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this before I open a ticket? Thanks!
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 8, 2014 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 8, 2014 Hi, What entries do you see under Utilities > Logs > Activity Log at the time of payment please?
jerryb
I think I'm going to open a ticket on this one... Single invoice was created today, client paid (thru PayPal), and I have the same results - PayPal is showing the invoice as being paid, when I pull the invoice up it's marked as Unpaid but the only button option is to Mark Cancelled or Mark Unpaid (which does nothing). The only thing I can think of as having been changed was when I set Mass Payment on, but it is off now and this is occurring...
jerryb
Think I found the problem with this. Seems that my IPN settings at PayPal had disappeared - no return URL was in the settings. I've put the correct URL in, will monitor to see if this happens again.
WHMCS Ryan
Hello jerryb, Please let us know if this has indeed resolved your issue. It is helpful for anyone else who may find this thread searching for answers if this was, in fact, the cause of your issue. --Thanks
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 11, 2014 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 11, 2014 Hi, If the issue persists, what do you see under Billing > Gateway Log at the time of payment? Common errors are explained at http://docs.whmcs.com/PayPal#Error_Messages If there's no record, what do you see on the Message ID page for the transaction inside your PayPal account under History > IPN History? Please take care to strip any sensitive information before posting it publicly here.
jerryb
BOOM!! You nailed it, John! I had added another email address to my PayPal account without adding it in my Gateway module. Found the error in the Gateway Log, and it was the first error listed in the link you provided... to be honest, I didn't even know that Gateway Log existed - I've never had to use it that I recall, and I assumed Gateway Log would be in with Module Logs.... Corrected that, tested (by invoicing myself), and it works like a champ! I knew it had to be something I had done/changed, but adding that email to PayPal was just kind of a "while I'm thinking of it" kind of thing... completely slipped my mind that I had even done it... Sorry for the long delay in responding, but I actually had no PayPal transactions come up over the weekend! Thanks again...
