Jan38
Hi all, Since i have changed the transfer cost to 0 for .nl domain names WHMCS does not create invoices for the domains that become to expire. The situation was when a .nl domain was transferred the customer had to pay the fee for a new year, now transferring the domain is free and the domain expire date is synchronised by the registrar, BUT when that date is near WHMCS does not create an invoice what is wrong? SIDN did change their policy in this so we had to follow the rules Edited February 27, 2014 by Jan38
brian!
do you have a renewal fee entered in domain pricing for .nl ? what is the next due date for the domain in question ?
Jan38
yes the renewal fee and the registration fee have the correct prices, the transfer fee is 0.00 Registration Date 19-2-14 (transfer) Expiry Date 9-3-14 Next Due Date 7-3-14 and no invoice or reminder...
brian!
Hi Jan, weird... I don't sell .nl domains, but the principle should be the same for all free transfer tlds, and i've never ran into this with .uk domains. what's your invoice generation value - 7 days, 14 days ? has the original transfer been paid for and confirmed in whmcs ? the only things that occur to me is that the due date might be too close to the registration date - but I doubt it's that as I thought whmcs only cares about the next due date and acts on that... or the transfer isn't complete in whmcs (marked as paid) and that is preventing a renewal being generated. if no-one else has any idea, it might be worth opening a ticket with support about this to see if they can shed some light on it.
Jan38
the customer didn't need to pay for the transfer as of the new SIDN rules that you don't have to pay for the transfer, the original renewdate is leading here. there is no invoice due because there are no costs invoice generation 30 days Edited February 27, 2014 by Jan38
brian!
there is no invoice due because there are no costs aaahh... yes! what's the Recurring Amount in the client profile for this domain - it isn't set to 0.00 is it? also, anything in the logs since the transfer about the domain?
Jan38
the recurring amount is standard so not 0.00
brian!
if there's nothing in the logs, then opening a support ticket might be the best way to get to the bottom of this...
Jan38
now it works like there is a notification sent out to the customer to renew his domain...
Jan38
Sync Next Due Date is not used atm, should i use this setting and if so how many days should i use here: Number of Days to Set Due Date in Advance of Expiry:
brian!
Used in conjunction with the above feature, when ticked the Next Due Date will be synchronized with domain name's Expiry Date. The number field can also be used to specify how far in advance of the Expiry Date to set the Next Due Date - the default setting 0 means the Expiry Date and Next Due Dates will be the same. Increasing the number means the renewal invoice will be due before the domain's expiry date, useful if your clients use slow payment methods such as cash or cheques which need time to clear. personally, I don't use it... and i'm not sure how much help it would be for you in finding why the next due date didn't initiate a renewal invoice. however, there can't be much wrong with the current due date if it's triggering renewal notices.
Jan38
okay but i think the renewal notices are sended out very short before the domain expires, can you setup those days?
