coghost
Really, out of the blue WHMCS is now sending late notices for invoices that are not due for 4 days. I have one invoice I created a few hours ago and manually sent, it also sent out an over due notice. I have the grace period set for 6 days after the due date before it is over due. So can someone explain to me why this over zealous program is ignoring my predefined parameters? I cannot have this happening because it makes me out to look like an idiot! So far WHMCS has done a very good job of that and while some of it has been my own doing many of the issues are just poorly written code! WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted December 30, 2013 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted December 30, 2013 Hi, What entries do you see under Utilities > Logs > Activity Log at the time the email was sent?
coghost
Hi,What entries do you see under Utilities > Logs > Activity Log at the time the email was sent? First let me say that this client has a reoccurring invoice that is created each month. The late reminder was for a one off charge that I had created 4 hours prior to the cron running the monthly invoice. The logs show that I first created the invoice for the single charge and that it sent the invoice to the client. 4 hours later the cron runs, creates and sends her monthly invoice and then says it processed reminder notices and then says it sent her the first overdue notice for the one time invoice I had created 4 hours earlier. It seems to me what happened is the reoccurring invoice triggered WHMCS to process the one off invoice as late. What does not make sense is that the creation date and the due date are the same day but even though it was still the same day the invoice was created WHMCS labeled the invoice as overdue. How can an invoice created on the 29th day be overdue on the 29th? So you know how I have this setup here is how I have the automatic billing settings configured. Maybe there is a conflict here that I am not seeing? Invoice Generation (defaults to 7 days prior to due date) Invoice Unpaid Reminder (2 days before due date) First Overdue Reminder (3 days after due date) Second Overdue Reminder (4 days after due date) Third Overdue Reminder (5 days after due date) Add Late Fee Days (10 days after due date)
coghost
The cron just ran and again sent out late notices that should not be due for another 2 days. It is becoming obvious that WHMCS does not know how to count.
coghost
I am wondering if I just have a bad install? I have had way to many issues with this software from day one. What are my options if I want to completely remove everything and rebuild the site from scratch? Would I be able to import my users and other information or would I need to re-install everything from the ground up?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 2, 2014 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 2, 2014 Hi, It's all done based upon the data in the database, so even if you deleted all the PHP files and uploaded a fresh set, you'd still have the same database which probably has the bad data in it.

Is there anything I can use to test the database to see if something is bad?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 3, 2014 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 3, 2014 Hi, Please open a support ticket and we can investigate. Be sure to include full admin login details, FTP access and the Invoice ID in question. Explain when reminders were automatically sent and when you expected them to be sent.
coghost
Thanks John, not sure if it was something I had tweaked or changed or what but out of the blue I am now getting my cron reports and they are running on schedule. That only worked for a short time after I had first set things up and then it quit. I had to manually run the cron to get it to work. Now however it is running and that may have been why the system sent the invoice reminders out of sync. In stead of sending you on a wild goose chase I am going to let this work as is for this month and see how it goes when it starts sending monthly reminders at the end. If it is still acting up I will open a support ticket at that time and let you guys see if you can find out what I am doing wrong. Thanks...
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted January 8, 2014 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted January 8, 2014 Hi, If the cron suddenly started working without any changes to the WHMCS software it would seem to suggest a server issue.
