HostStratus
Hey guys, here's what I'm workin with: <?php require("clients/dbconnect.php"); if ($_SESSION['uid']) { echo "logged in"; } else { echo "NOT logged in"; } ?> This is http://www.hoststratus.com/test.php, but my WHMCS installation is in the clients/ directory under the subdomain https://clients.hoststratus.com(notice the SSL). I simply cant get the external page to pickup the sessionUID even though /clients/dbconnect.php is the directory location. I was assuming it was an issue with the subdomain and/or SSL certificate. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
HostStratus
Could really use some help guys...WHMCS Support doesn't care.
Damo
I doubt that support doesn't care. What you're doing is outside the product so they won't support it. Quite rightly too. The session has nothing to do with the database/connection. The session is in PHP. And sharing them between domains (a sub domain is still a different domain) isn't possible afaik.

Yeah, that's understandable. I wasn't saying they should care, but just as you stated, it's outside the realm of a typical WHMCS installation and they seem to have bigger things to worry about(it's been like 72hours since I've gotten a reply). I saw a couple people saying the same thing. So chances are you're probably right; the external domain is my main problem. Do you know of any way around this possibly? Any way to transfer over that session? That subdomain is on the same host(it's a local directory). I've seen it done so I know it's possible, many sites have it setup this way I believe.

HostStratus
Which bit of did you not understand ? Thats the thing, is you're completely wrong. It IS possible, as shown by many webhosts out there that have has it custom coded. There ARE ways around it. There are scripts that can fetch cookies and use them for whatever.
JoshDargie
Which bit of did you not understand ? Geezes, someones got their panties in a twist. Unfortunately HostStratus, reading the original session will not be possible. However in your WebHostingTalk thread I referenced a way around this which is pretty clean.
