How to add a discount for existing clients on renewals

Hello All,

 

I have a question please... I want to make a coupon to give to my existing clients so that they can get discounts on renewals for their existing products. How to do that? because the coupons are now applied to only new customers upon checkout.

 

I want to do this because I have reseller hosting plan and I want to give clients discounts so that they can continue the services and not going to another competitor.

the short answer is it can't be done - you can't use promotion codes with renewals.

this is one of those glorious times when we both seem to be correct!

 

the clients can't use promotion codes on renewals (which is what he asked about) - I read WHMCS John say that so I was just passing it on, but I just played with your suggestion manually and it does seem to discount the renewal when the promo code is assigned to the product... I assume it would also work after a cron job too.
