I want to start my own payment gateway company, something like paypal

I want to create something that is similar to paypal and wepay.

Anyone has any idea on how to go about doing it?

Anybody who has experience with developing a payment gateway before?

Judging from the title "I want to start my own payment gateway company, something like paypal" I think he means he wants to become an actual payment gateway provider.

 

In which case I don't think posting here is the right way to go about it. It will take a lot of time, a lot of contacts and agreements to create, a lot of rules to enforce and comply with.

 

And I don't think anyone here has done something like this.

I'm sorry but as previously stated, this isn't the place to ask the question, Secondly, if you have to ask the question then i feel you are not in a position either financially or technically to undertake such a mammoth business plan.

 

What you are looking at in basic terms is development, business connections, financial agreements, advertising, technical staff and the list goes on. When i first looked at othellotech's answer i thought millions was an overstatement, but when you consider the full business model and all that it entails in the end you would very likely need them. If you wanted to go into payment processing then you would need to buildup that collateral or have some very understanding partners. I assume you yourself are a software developer?

 

Don't forget to add onto those such things as insurance and security administrators etc etc. i can very well imagine the insurance alone would be a very heavy cost.

I understand the heavy costs that follows this business undertaking and I do have the financial means for it.

We are already in the midst of acquiring banks.

Right now, I am just looking for someone who has the technical expertise of having built a payment gateway before.
