How do you set up a domain reseller in whmcs? Help required

Hi

 

I'm trying to set up domain reselling in whmcs. I've tried reading the instructions but they don't seem to tell you how.

 

I tried setting up heart internet but that in itself seems to be a nightmare as I can't find where to set up domain name reseller to set it up.

 

Has anyone got any easier instructions or a better company to go with??

to Start with The Heart modules are included in version 5 as standard. If using an older version of WHMCS you can download the Heart Internet modules @ http://www.whmcs.com/members/dl.php?type=d&id=52

 

OK and now in Whmcs

1. look for Domain Registrars this is in Products/Services

2. in the Module look for HeartInternet then activate / configure now this will ask you for Username & Password

3. go to HeartInternet website login go to Reseller Control Centre look for API / WHMCS now here you will see Domain Reseller or Your Full Reseller pick one then copy the Username & Password paste that info in the whmcs "Domain Registrars"

Thanks for that but I had fathomed that bit out as I originally had an issue with a corrupt registrars folder.

 

What do I need to do now ?

 

Ive read I need to create a server and then a product called heartinternet

 

Not understanding why I need to create a server and also where I pay for domains or get the difference and how to add them to current products is where I am at.

 

I asked for full instructions to see if I had missed anything but looks like I got the first bit right..

Hi,

You don't need to create a server for selling domains through HeartInternet, only if you're reselling hosting through HeartInternet. There are two distinct sections in our documentation for each: http://docs.whmcs.com/Heart_Internet

 

Clients pay you directly through the invoices and payment gateways you configure in WHMCS. WHMCS tells HeartInternet to register the domains when the client has paid you. Then HeartIntertnet will charge you for the cost of the domains.

With heart internet you require domain credits to use their API, you do not need a reseller account to resell domains with them only hosting.

 

At last check, they have UK domain credits and COM domain credits, You cannot register a domain via the API Unless you have the credits in your account. Its been a long time since i setup and used them but when was using heart internet for domain names there was a minimum of 5 credit purchases, for UK domains there was minimum 2 year registration this should have changed now with the recent Nominet changes. This meant a domain registration actually tookup two credits for UK Domain names.

 

The more credits you purchase the cheaper they get.

 

You will need your API Access Details from heart internet. You will also need to ensure your port is open for WHMCS/Heart Internet to communicated, i believe the port is incoming 701
