leemason
We are very proud to announce a brand new module for you to automate your sales much more easily! This new module is a free trials and upgrades automation module called WHMCS Free Trials. With this module you can send pre suspension and termination emails, Suspend and/or Terminate services, and also provide automated upgrade orders. Each setting for each product is independant, meaning you can use 1 or all of the automation settings on any product (suspension, termination, upgrades). Each product can be setup in the admin area with a very easy to use admin screen. Simply set the days and choose your actions and it will all be proccessed on the daily cron job. Checkout the module features and screenshots here: We are very proud to announce a brand new module for you to automate your sales much more easily! sford999
Does this work with the licensing addon? EG: If I set up a product to have a 7 day free trial, the client orders the product, the license key created & the client downloads the product. Then after 7 days, the license key is set to invalid/revoked. Similarly for upgrading from the free trial, the license key is not revoked/suspended (or if already revoked/suspended, then un-revoked/unsuspended) Edited August 8, 2013 by sford999
avesovum
Does this allow the customer to purchase a paid package while the free trial is suspended?

Similarly for upgrading from the free trial, the license key is not revoked/suspended (or if already revoked/suspended, then un-revoked/unsuspended) the module will always run the local api suspend/terminate/upgrade functions. this should in turn suspend the licenses as per the module dictates. so the answer is yes. - - - Updated - - - Does this allow the customer to purchase a paid package while the free trial is suspended? yes they should be able to upgrade even if its suspended.
gregkargus
I'm looking for a module with the functionality to auto-move a free trial customer who upgrades to a paid account from a subdomain to a personalized domain of their choosing. I currently offer free trials on a predetermined subdomain, which allows the potential customer to build a website for demo purposes. Ideally the customer will be impressed with the website and want to buy the account, but as of right now there is no automatic way to transfer the created website from the free subdomain to the newly purchased full domain. Is this module able to do this?
dimitrifrom31
Hi, few questions: 1) How does that work: if you set a free trial to an existing product does the module runs the create function even if invoice is not paid ? Or do you have to set a specific product to be used as a free trial and another for the "upgrade" ? 2) Can you limit the amount of free trials per customer (IP/email) ? That's to not end up with a single customer ordering multiple products and get them all free. 3) What does the automatic upgrade do? I mean does it upgrade to another product automatically even if not paid or does it create invoice to be paid after the free trial ended ? 4) Can a customer upgrade to pay product during the free trial or only when it ends ? Last but not least do you offer a free trial of your free trial module or a money back guarantee ? I guess it would be easier for me to just test the module to make sure it feets to my needs as I ordered a similar module from another dev some time ago and it ended up not really doing the job as I expected.

Hello dimitri, and for anyone who has questions about this module. the way the module is works is you must create 2 products. identical in every way except 1 will be free and 1 paid. then you setup the free trials by selecting the free product, then telling the module how many days till suspension, days till termination and days till auto upgrade. when a customer purchases the free version, the module create will run as its free. so they can use the service. if set after x days this service will be suspended, and the same again for terminations. the upgrade is how the module achieves free trials. if you choose a product to upgrade to after the set days the module will run the api upgrade function. This doesn't allow them access to the paid version right away. it keeps the service as a free trial, but creates an order and invoice for the upgrade. If/when they pay the upgrade invoice the free service will then get upgraded to the paid service. regarding number 4. if you choose the paid version in the free versions upgrade/downgrade settings yes they can upgrade at any time using the upgrade button within the template too.

I need to test the module and how it will behave with config options etc to make sure it does what I have in mind.
steemer473
In your explanation on how the free trial product works, you stated that you create two identical products. Does this mean when setting up the Free trials product, do you actually set the price? And the price matches that of the upgrade product? Or do you mark it free? If you can set up the automatic upgrade product within the module, do you set up the upgrade options within the free trial product as well?

hosteroven
I have a few questions re: this module for anyone who has experience with it: 1. Does the upgrade happen automatically after the free trial, or does the customer have to manually choose to upgrade? I prefer the upgrade from free to paid to happen automatically without the customer having to do anything. 2. Does the invoice have to be marked as PAID before the automatic upgrade occurs? I would prefer that it did not since our users primarily pay their invoices by check and we allow them net 30 to make payment. I would not want their service to be on hold as a result of this waiting period. Thanks
bblsystemsinc
Hello Is support still offered for this product? I purchased a few months ago and have it installed and setup. But the product upgrade does not happen after the # of days specified. I created a support ticket for this problem on the producers website. A little guidance would be appreciated. Does the upgrade product name have to be the same as the Free trial product name and are there any special setup required for the product creation for the product the free trial product will be upgraded to, i.e., module tab, upgrade tab ?? Thanks
Alex - Arvixe
I would guess it is still supported as they emailed me about some promotion a short while ago - and it is still for sale. I have to admit, I requested a feature a long time ago and they said they would look into it, sadly it never came around.
avesovum
This stopped working with WHMCS 5.3.10. It doesn't terminate free trials anymore.
Hostnetric
Its sad that so many good modules seem to get abandoned. I have seen a lot of modules that I would love to use, but they have not been updated in years.
