douxchow
I am not able to get emails to import into my system properly. I checked the manual and ensured that pipe.php is 755. The importer had also been working for a while until it strangely stopped working. Not sure what would cause the "Critical Error: could not connect to the database" because WHMCS still has database access and works when I use the client portal. I get the following error: The following address(es) failed: pipe to |/home/<<snipped>>/public_html/clients/pipe/pipe.php generated by <<snipped>> The following text was generated during the delivery attempt: ------ pipe to |/home/<<snipped>>/public_html/clients/pipe/pipe.php generated by <<snipped>>------ <div style="border: 1px dashed #cc0000;font-family:Tahoma;background-color:#FBEEEB;width:100%;padding:10px;color:#cc0000;"><strong>Critical Error</strong><br>Could not connect to the database</div> ------ This is a copy of the message, including all the headers. ------
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 4, 2013 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 4, 2013 Hi, Assuming you're using cPanel, then my understanding of the issue is that cPanel recently changed cron/forwarders to run through jailed shell, and changed the way jailed shell works. If you were to ssh into your hosting account, you cannot connect to mysql, and this is the problem. However you should be able to, and the fact one cannot is the cause of this error.
