theviewer1985
Hi guys Right im new to WHMCS, so everything that i do is a first for me.... and it just so happens my first domain client wasn't a straight forward one so I am unsure how much of my concerns are just based on the rare occasion of having a difficult domain client or how much of it I am going to have to expect for every domain in the future Here is my story... 1. Client joins me and states on his order to transfer domain to me. 2. Transfer fails because the old registrar is the same one as I use (heart internet) and their policy is to not allow inner customer transfers without manual intevention 3. I have a to-do list mark open on WHMCS to remind me to deal with this. Nice. After a couple of days, i manage to deal with it and got the old guy to manually transfer it to me. I then logged into the domain control panel and changed the nameservers to me... the website worked so I set the to-do list to complete 4. Up till this point, everything is what id expect it to be. But its from here where my confusion started. I went to Client > Domain Registrations and noticed the domain still has "pending" next to it. I was expecting this automatically switch to Active... maybe it will once my cron runs tomorrow morning? 5. Also inside the domains settings in my clients profile, none of the dates are correct. They just state signed up 2 days ago, and it needs to be renewed 1 year from then. That is wrong, the whois data says it was created in december and needs to be renewed december next year. 6. Do i need to fill this in myself? What happens if i dont / forget (because there isnt any reminders in WHMCS)? Will i have to do this for every domain transfer? Thanks
brian!
I assume the client has paid for the transfer ? that could account as to why its still pending if it hasn't been marked as paid, but wait and see what happens after the cron job tomorrow... hopefully that will resolve it... you can manually switch it to active in the client profile if you need to. with regards to dates, if you have domain sync enabled, then the cron job might correct this too... but it's not a normal transfer in the sense that its just been moved between one sub account of heart to another, so nothing has gone through the registry and no years have been added to the expiry date. i've never had an internal transfer while testing my whmcs setup (and don't use Heart), but maybe you have to manually confirm the transfer is complete... i'd be interested to find out what occurs after the cron job, or if anyone else has further knowledge on this. Thanks for your reply. Ok i waited till my cron ran before responding back to you and here are my comments: The client didn't pay for the transfer no. I do transfers for free regardless of the package they take Domain sync has always been enabled After the cron, nothing has changed (dates still remain wrong and pending mark still exists) I will go and change it all manually now. But like you Brian, I would like more info on this subject.
