webbcite
I've searched high and low and can't seem to find an answer. I have basically one payment method (gateway) as all of our service are charged automatically using a customer Credit Cards. I've had a few customers login and update their contact information, which is great. The problem is they are setting the Payment Method to Use Default (Set Per Order) rather than leaving it on the CC gateway. When their next billing comes up, what will happen? Will it still auto-charge their card or will they have to manually pay the invoices each time. Looking for a definition so I can better educate my customers when they make that change in their profile. Thanks in advance.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted June 13, 2013 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted June 13, 2013 Hi, It will use the payment gateway method selected under the client's Products/Services tab. So if that was set to PayPal for example, then future invoice for that service will have PayPal as the payment method.
webbcite
Great. Thanks John. Just wanted to make sure it would still get auto-charged.
And then there was one les
Actually webbcite i think you might very well have a point, although i should imagine if you only have one gateway active in your case it will automatically charge the card. I believe although i cant be sure on this, default is a setting that basically does nothing when the clients data is saved. However if the database is updating with "default" instead of just staying as it was then you might very well have a problem because so far as i can see, there is nowhere in whmcs to set the default gateway. This might be that default is the first gateway in the list. which again, would simply mean for you its not an issue, but for anybody with multiple gateways it could become a problem and the gateway ordering actually becomes more important than simply the order it shows on the website. This is something John might be able to confirm?
