ttremain
I am setting up WHMCS for the first time, and I see something I find troublesome. While setting up PayPal as a payment gateway I see: "You must enable IPN inside your PayPal account and set the URL to...." PayPal allows the IPN location to be set via GET or POST variables when sending the user to PayPal. If it's hard coded at PayPal, this limits the flexibility on the PayPal account. Since it's impossible to have two IPN addresses hard configured at the same time, WHMCS is assuming they are going to be the only script used in this PayPal account, that is not able to set this on the fly. It's a small fix, and should be included in the code.
WHMCS JamesX
WHMCS already does send the IPN URL specific to your installation with the initial transaction. However, you must still ensure that IPN is configured/enabled within your PayPal account itself. It does not really matter much what URL you have defined at PayPal as the IPN URL since WHMCS does send it with the transaction; but, something must be entered into that field at PayPal nonetheless.
Nexxterra
Since the new version was installed, ALL paypal transactions are going totally unnoticed. I have checked the IPN settings in paypal and they are fine...whmcs settings are the same as they have been since 2007... where can I look, Paypal says its at whmcs end!
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted June 11, 2013 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted June 11, 2013 Hi, What entries do you see under Billing > Gateway Log at the time a payment is made via PayPal? Of particular interest is the Result column. The explanation of common errors are published in our documentation: http://docs.whmcs.com/PayPal#Error_Messages
