WebzPro
Resellerclub New API Key will the affect WHMCS? Just received from them. New API KeyIn order to secure the way your business connects to our system via the API, we will be introducing an API key that can be used to authenticate your API calls. Currently, the authentication process requires you to use your RID and password to connect to the API. We have removed these vulnerabilities by introducing the API key to connect to our system. 11th February onwards, you can find your unique API key inside your Control Panel at the below mentioned path. Control Panel > Settings > API You can find more information about the new call in our knowledgebase.

sohouk
The Resseller Club message is confusing because although the announcement seems to suggest you must use the new API authentication, it turns out that it is simply an additional (and in their view more secure) way of connecting to the RC interface. This means that requests from the 11th February onwards require one or other of the following authentication procedures; auth-userid: Your Reseller ID. auth-password: The password you use to login to your Live account's Reseller Control Panel, OR api-key: The new alphanumeric code that can be used to authenticate API calls. At the moment therefore it appears it won't have any effect on WHMCS > Reseller Club though I would anticipate that Matt and the team are looking into incorporating the new authentication method. Their KB article is here Trevor
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted February 11, 2013 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted February 11, 2013 Hi, It's good to see ResellerClub have updated their documentation. We do plan on updating the module in future releases to also support API Key authentication.
