zigzam
Is it secure having your servers root passwords saved in WHMCS? Wouldn't it be more secure to use Remote Access Keys?
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted August 15, 2007 WHMCS CEO Share Posted August 15, 2007 Not all server types have a remote access key. Although cPanel does, but functionality is limited. The username/password method allows many more feature to be used. You don't have to use root - a reseller level access will do as long as you don't want automatic setup of reseller accounts. bear
What is limited in using the access key, Matt? With my old software I was able to create, delete, suspend and unsuspend accounts on a Cpanel server. Can't think of much else I need to do from within a client manager.

How about WHM account importing and account stats? Might be a couple others. They all can probably be done with the xml api and cpanel 11, but like matt said as well, not all control panels have a hash option.
bear
It did account importing, but I don't think it did stats (wasn't in the script).
