Renewal of domain name before paying Invoice

I have a client whose domain is expiring in a few days. I know him personally and he has asked me to renew the domain and he would pay me once he is back from his vaccation (which is post the domain expiry date).

 

So I renewed his domain by clicking on the "Renew" button under his domain WHMCS > Client Domains > Domain Name.

 

Now the domain has been renewed and new expiry date is 1st Oct 2013 while due date is 1st Oct 2012 (since he has not paid the invoice).

 

Now when he makes the payment and I would update the invoice with the data. At that time would the WHMCS renew the domain again causing double renewal of the domain to 2014? If yes, then please suggest an alternative method to enter the transaction and marking the invoice as paid. Its current status stays as unpaid.

Delete the invoice line item, save the invoice and then re-enter the line item.

 

This breaks the link between the invoice and the auto-renew process, so there will be no attempt to renew the domain once the invoice is paid.

Not that I'm aware of.

in his domain page set registrar to none.... when he pays set it then back to enom etc... that will stop it renewing.
